I'm Robyn, a garden designer based in Bristol.

My route into garden design has always been about creativity, and a need to transform the spaces around me.

After graduating with a degree in Fine Art and Contextual Practice, I became an art and design teacher. I loved it, but being in a classroom left me longing to be creative outside. That urge, alongside having my own children, led me to design and make large-scale community murals and public artworks. At the same time I was renovating our family homes, and later holiday lets, learning just how much a well-designed space can change the way you live in it.

I’ve always been practical and hands-on, so when the chance came to train in horticultural construction, I took it.

I spent years working in nurseries and garden centres across Britain and Ireland, building large commercial greenhouses. It’s where my love of plants really came to life, and where my knowledge of construction and site management grew deep roots. Along the way I met growers and horticulturalists all over the country and learned from them which plants and trees truly thrive in our British climate.

Those threads have come together in what I do now:

Imagining and designing gardens and outdoor spaces that really work for the people who use them. Based in Bristol, I work on gardens across the city and South West of England and I’m always happy to travel further for the right project.

Artfully imagined, practically designed. Form, function and feeling.
